HOLLY COMMUNITY NEW ADDRESS
Have you found us since our move? Having trouble, give us a call at 443-260- 0822.
FEBRUARY IS AMERICAN HEART MONTH.
Americans should be evaluating their lifestyle and make heart healthy adjustments to the way we live. Heart disease is the #1 killer of women in the United States. (1) Start by eating right (2) Get active (3) Avoid tobacco products. Let’s all work together to make some modifications to have a healthy heart.
VOCATIONAL PROGRAM
This economy is creating not only more people seeking employment but less employment opportunities. Today’s job seeker must be more persistent, motivated & aware in order to find a position of choice. Applications, resumes, cover letters and thank you letters in perfect order has become standard operating procedure. The use of networking family, friends, co-workers, etc. is a more direct method of finding a solid job. Network to cultivate others you can ask for opportunities. Follow through on every lead as you never knew where they may take you. Never give up. Remember to eat & exercise properly & get a good night’s sleep. Be ready and prepared and best of luck. For vocational questions, call Jim Freeman, 443-366-2271.
COMPUTER PROGRAM
Anyone have any Pentium 4 computers? HCI is in need. Contact James MacNamara at 443-260-0822.
EMPLOYMENT STATISTICS
NCWD/Youth is excited to announce that the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) recently released---for the first time---official employment and unemployment statistics for people with disabilities.
According to the BLS, in January 2009, the percent of people with disabilities participating in the American labor force was 20.0 percent compared to 65.0 percent of people without disabilities. Conversely, the unemployment rate of people with disabilities was 13.2 percent, which is over 150 percent higher than those without disabilities (8.3 percent).
